Reward magic hands that reflect their hablilidad and skill in the Contest -70 Copper Hammered

The amount and the awards exceeded this year, 610 thousand pesos that were distributed in 146 awards.

Santa Clara del Cobre, mpio. Salvador Escalante, Michoacan, August 19, 2015.- As part of the closure of the L National Copper Fair, the Institute of Artisan Michoacano (IAM), the National Fund for the Development of Arts and Crafts (Fonart) in coordination with the Municipal Presidency of Salvador Escalante and different institutions of the state government handed over the medals, diplomas and cash prizes artisans LXX Contest winners hammered copper.

Rafael Paz Vega, Director of the Institute of Artisan Michoacano (IAM), representing the governor, said that in this 2015 the number of prizes and the amount thereof is exceeded, and that in 2012 410,000 pesos were delivered; in 2013 were 449,000 pesos; last year 598 000; while this year there were 300 registered artisans with 698 pieces and 610 thousand pesos were distributed in 146 awards.

The state official also thanked the various institutions that were added to the prize pool, and the secretariats of Government, Tourism, Culture, Economic Development and Indigenous Peoples also the Museum of Popular Art, Popular Culture, Deputy Victor Manuel Garibay and Barragan the City Hall of Salvador Escalante.

Alejandro Olvera Mendoza, mayor of Salvador Escalante, thanked the support of all federal, state agencies and individuals who gave more awards for artisans and highlighted the influx of visitors to this year’s 50th edition of the Feria del Cobre.

Meanwhile Hector Franco Gutiérrez, deputy director of Social Programs Fonart, said that this institution, which is run by Liliana Romero Medina, remains committed to the craft sector and its contribution this year, by the federal government, was 285 thousand pesos in cash prizes for the contest.

Artisans winners of the awards are those who prepared the best parts of the competition and this time the national award and the gold medal, worth 25,000 pesos, was for Arturo Angel Punzo, who drew a vase; State award and the silver medal, with a total of 22,000 pesos was won by Luis Angel Ziranda with a center; Santa Clara and award the medal of copper and a value of 19 thousand pesos, won Roberto Ortega Cruz, who presented a bowl.

In the category of master craftsmen first winners were: Leodegarius Ziranda Tinoco, in the field of jars; Luis Martinez Velazquez, in the field of vases; Roberto Martinez Velazquez, the branch centers; Pureco Manuel Zarco, in pots ring; Juan Carlos Ornelas Zirando in Orchard; Jose Antonio Martinez Paredes on plates and platters; Ziranda Mario Cruz, in the branch of buckets; Armando Martinez Perez, in trays; and jewelry, Mary Patricia Torres Parra.

The first site in the category of new values ​​was for: Pablo Antonio Ortega Ornelas, in the field of jars; Pedro Tinoco Saucedo, in the field of vases; Joaquín Ornelas Ziranda in branch centers; Hugo Manuel Martínez Carrillo, in pots ring; Antonio Castro Hernandez in Orchard; Everardo Diaz Trejo in the branch plates and bowls; Alfredo Barajas Antonio Correa, in pots; Zarco Iris Maria Vazquez, in the branch of trays; and Luis Alberto Reyes Torres, in the field of jewelry.

In the category of miniatures the first place was to Napoleon Perez Pamatz and multiple category, Rogelio Velazquez Hernandez won first place.
