Rustic furniture and textile embroidery adorn the fair Pichátaro

Master craftsmen and new values were the categories that participated in the contest craft.

Pichátaro, mpio. Tingambato, Michoacan, August 07, 2015.- In the framework of the XVI Rustic Furniture Fair Textile and Embroidery, of Pichátaro, the Institute of Artisan Michoacano (IAM) and the National Fund for the Development of Arts and Crafts ( Fonart), in coordination with the Municipal Presidency Tingambato and civil and communal authorities Pichátaro, held the «Contest XVI Textile Embroidery Craft, Furniture and Wood carving», with the participation of 61 craftsmen, with 76 pieces registered and 34 awards were presented.

Rafael Paz Vega, head of the Institute of Artisan Michoacan, said in his speech, the support granted by the National Fund for the Development of Arts and Crafts, the Ministry of State Government, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Social Development, to deliver a bag prize of 65 thousand pesos among the five institutions.

He also noted the importance of the work done by committee members contest as his performance is achieved greater participation of artisans in the contest, giving transparency and legality, he said is not easy, so that external congratulations the members of this committee and the jury for whom it was also difficult to select the winning pieces for their quality.

For his part, head of tenure, Jesus Salvador Gonzalez, thanked all the support institutions to deliver the prizes and congratulated the winners and craftsmen, but also inviting all visitors to buy furniture and textile Pichátaro.

In recognition awards were also present, Martha Josefina Rodriguez Casillas, Secretary of Indigenous Peoples; Rafael Muñoz Cruz, chief of the National Commission for the Development of Indigenous Peoples; Tapia and Juan José Barrera, who surrendered to the winners and craftsmen diploma and cash award.

Winners artisans especially the best part of the contest prize are: Luis Manuel de la Cruz Albelo, with a five-piece chamber, and Andrew Bartolo Albelo, which produced a carved chest.

In the category of master craftsmen was the first to Domingo Rodriguez Albelo, with a double header borrero and hummingbirds; in the category of new values ​​the first place was won by Miguel Angel Rodriguez Constantino, a king size bedroom, four-piece.

Maria Concepcion Rueda Anastacio, won first place in the category of textile shirts and Zechariah Francisco Matias, won first place in the category of tablecloths.

The winner of woodcarving in the masters category was Wilber Cortés Soriano and new values ​​Sierra Juan Manuel Cortez and Eraide Felipe Soriano, he won second place in masks.
